Here’s an update on my Master Gardener journey.

I’ve now completed my coursework and final, so I’ve moved from Trainee to Intern status. Pre-Corona, I made connections with certified Master Gardeners to volunteer in the areas that were of most interest to me, such as dahlias, roses, and composting. I’ll continue learning more in those areas through our Zoom meetings and research from Washington State University. But now that the world is in crisis, my hands-on volunteer work will be on vegetable gardening and food production. Ultimately the plan is that through volunteer time with certified Master Gardeners, I’ll learn to be an effective community educator in gardening and environmental stewardship. I’m excited!
