Ingredients
- 6–8 Chelan Ranch Honeycrisp apples, sliced (no need to peel)
- 3–4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 8–10 cups of water (enough to cover the apples and spices in the pot)
Instructions
- Place the sliced apples, cinnamon sticks, and cloves in a large pot.
- Pour in 8-10 cups of water, or enough to fully submerge the apples and spices.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 2-3 hours. Stir occasionally, pressing the apples gently with a spoon to release their juices.
- After simmering, turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
Notes
Straining for Clear Cider:
- Pour the cooked mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or a cheesecloth-lined strainer set over a large bowl or pitcher to remove solids and create a clear cider.
- For extra clarity, strain the cider a second time through fresh cheesecloth or a coffee filter.
